With hints of white flower and oak this wine has a fine, elegant, dry palate with balanced acidity and a touch of creaminess on the mid-palate.
Made from Jones vines planted in 1905, the Ugni Blanc (Trebbiano) grapes were hand-picked on 28th February 2019. After being whole bunch crushed the grapes were pressed and the juice placed directly in an old French oak barrel (500 litres). The fermentation was carried out by natural yeast and the wine was then aged for 7 months in the barrel with lees stirring to enhance texture and complexity. Alc 11.0%. Cellaring up to 4 years. A limited quantity wine with less than 700 bottles made.
This wine is superb with fish, poultry, tomato-based dishes and bitter salad leaves.
Drink around the BBQ or on the verandah overlooking the garden with good friends and loved ones.
