2015 was a near-perfect year in the vineyard: spring rains, even flowering, and a warm, steady summer produced wines with vibrant fruit and beautifully balanced tannins. After years in our estate cellar, the 2015 Shiraz is drinking superbly now, showing lovely richness with the complexity of age.
The result? Wines that shine with pure, expressive fruit characters supported by fine yet robust tannins – a true hallmark of the season.
Winemaking Notes
Made from grapes grown in some of our older vineyards, the fruit was hand-harvested on 16 and 19 February 2015. After destemming, fermentation took place in open wooden vats with hand-plunging. Malolactic fermentation and barrel maturation followed, before the wine was fined with egg white prior to bottling.
The wine spent 18 months in oak barrels, 30% of which were new French oak. The result is a wine of purity and structure, with fine tannins and depth of flavour.
