2022 Jones Winery & Vineyard Shiraz
$35.00 inc. GST
The bouquet is complex with notes of spice and red berry fruits and chocolate. The palate has great persistence of flavour; rich fruit of cherries and plums, spice and black pepper and is backed up by abundant yet fine tannins. The complex finish has bold intensity of chocolatey, berry flavours, with length and persistence.

Winemaking Notes
Made from grapes grown in some of our older vineyards. The grapes were harvested from 25th February 2022, destemmed and then fermented in open vats with hand-plunging. The wine was matured for 13 months in oak barrels, 30% of which was new French oak. Vegan Friendly

Great with cheese, game and red meat-based dishes. Try with confit duck breast or a pink rack of lamb with a herb breadcrumb crust.
Halliday Wine Companion: "A distinctly sleek and finer expression of shiraz than the previous vintage, and a tightly coiled one, too. Less generous and cuddly, maybe, but retains the same lovely spice-filled flavour intensity and all-round balance, albeit in a more tightly controlled format. Aromas lifted and inviting in damson plums, blue and black fruits, fine ground spices and light florals with a hint of bay leaf. The palate is taut and compact, with time to grow for those thinking of cellaring, carried by fine, firm tannins and just the merest hint of oak. Same, same but different and it definitely grows on you!" 92 Points Jeni Port July2025.
