A beautifully balanced wine. Aromas of honeysuckle, nutmeg and spicy fruit characters. The richly textured palate and delicate long fresh finish make this wine very enjoyable with many ‘difficult to match’ foods.
Made from our estate grown fruit, after handpicking both varieties, the grapes were whole bunch crushed then pressed. The juice produced (85% Marsanne, 15% Roussanne) was then placed directly in older French oak barrels. The wine was aged for 7 months with lees stirring periodically to enhance texture and complexity. Alc 12.9%, cellaring up to 8 years.
This wine is very versatile, anything from asparagus to antipasto to white meat and fish. These particular varieties and the style we have produced make the wine very food friendly.
