A medium bodied, textured wine with spice and berry fruit characters plus a soft tannin finish. Enjoyable now but will benefit from further ageing.
Made from grapes grown in some of our younger vineyards. After picking, the grapes were fermented in open vats, hand-plunged then pressed. Malolactic fermentation and maturation in barrel then fined with egg white prior to bottling. The wine was matured for 18 months in French oak barrels. Alc. 14.0%, cellaring well for up to 6 years.
A wine that is great with all red meat dishes, especially a simple grilled steak or a Sunday roast.
At the family lunch table with lots of good humour and laughter!
